ALSO...Each grade level will create a small book-themed float on a wagon. They will be placed in the lobby during Read Across America Week. We will vote by donations for the favorite float! All money raised will go to the Becky Spencer Memorial Scholarship. The grade level that gets the most votes for their float will earn 30 minutes of extra recess. Teachers could provide extra incentives to pump up the competition. Students will design the float idea and vote on what book it will be themed around. After students design the idea, teachers can work together and/or solicit parents to create the float. All floats will need to be set up by Monday, February 28th by 7:30 am. Donation jars will be in the office for students to place their votes. Checks and cash will be accepted. Checks will need to be made to Becky Spencer Memorial Scholarship Fund. The winner will be announced Monday, March 7th! (We will have a form about this to send home, too) Money will be collected through March 4th at 2:30. The winner will be announced on Monday, March 7th.
